This is an important question...

Although very rare it is a camper after all. Learned early on that having a backup ready to go for you is golden.

Think about this when choosing who to go with... Imagine if the day after you check-in you are broken on the side of the road. Then what? This is your room and ride. You likely have a big vacation problem.

Vacationing in your Easy Camper all good. I always have a backup Easy Camper ready to go for just this reason. Mostly it sits parked and costs me money to keep but having a backup for you is priceless when needed.

With me having a backup ready at all times 5 minutes to switch you over and your vacation continues on.

Look at it as me having vacation protection for you. Easy!

YES IT IS 100%. And vehicle camping is the most amazing way to experience Maui in your Easy Camper.

This is the most often asked question for sure:

Camping on Maui at the beaches and Hana jungle is completely legal and allowed. There is no law. None what so ever. In fact camping right at the beach is very popular with us locals. I camp at the beach with a group of friends at least once a month in my own personal camper. And every weekend lots of locals will get many family members together and all the kids then head to the beach for some camping fun. If you have been to Maui before you have seen people camping all along the beaches so you know.

You wonder about this because read a lot of false and incorrect information online. And unfortunately the information scares people from enjoying paradise this way. Don't be scared. It is awesome and legal.

Online you read peoples opinion. Not fact. What I find funny is a lot of the people that put this online have never even been to Maui and are just copying what they read somewhere else. Best advice I can give to anyone...

Always look at the source you are reading. If it is a random person how would they possibly know about Maui rules. If it's a information webpage or a business what do they want you to pay them, click on or buy from them. Campgrounds give kickbacks here. This means that if I tell you to reserve a campground campsite and you do I can get $5-$10 in my pocket. I have never done that even once. Many many many Maui businesses earn money in kickbacks you not knowing. Not me. Money is not my primary goal. You having an affordable magical vacation on Maui is and I don't need other places to put money in my hand to get you to spend your money with them. Especially when there are open amazing free camping areas all over way better than any campground. Your custom guide given on checkin has all the best campoing areas all over.

In 15 years hundreds of times camping I have stayed all campgrounds so I know each. Locals only use one.. Kipahulu in Hana.  I will say for only Hana that is the best camping place. There’s free open beach camping up in Hana tho Kipahulu is really great. The rest of the island beach camping is epic. (and nothing goes to me if you stay at Kipahulu LOL)

Lastly on this subject while you are online looking at Maui stuff to do with camping watch for anyone that says has gotten a ticket on Maui camping. Really keep an eye open for that Unicorn. Because getting a ticket for camping on Maui does not exist just like Unicorns. No one has ever gotten one because there is nothing to ticket. Legal and allowed island wide.

See what guests have to say and come on over..The waters fine!!

Well, it all started when my parents met in high school.... Haha

Hi I’m Jay your totally chill local island vibe guy. Been around these islands for the last 15 years or so. Used to be in hospitality and some tech with a dabble in real estate. But mostly hospitality. Originally from the SoCal area. Orange County for those that know... Laguna Niguel for those that really know!! LOL

How I got to Maui is really wild... So was in real estate when the market crashed, no more real estate going on and had a rough patch in life. Decided needed a break from SoCal. Been there all my life. Thought back to vacations and had fun on them but the 2 Hawaii ones I didn't want to go home.... HAWAII HERE I COME!! Haha Planed to come for 6 months so did, after those 6 said having fun 6 more, did that 4 times and then said ‘Who am I kidding I'm not leaving”. And I didn't. All these years later Maui is 100% my home.

Eventually met up with a group of friends about 10 years ago that camper camp. Started going with them about once a month all over Maui. Another buddy noticed I was only using my camper every month or two and said put it online. I said no one wants to come to Maui and Camper Camp. I was wrong. Big time. So, to get him to stop bugging me I took one picture and put one sentance ‘Camper Available’. And in 3 days booked up for 4 months. Yep.

You probably think I said awesome. Nope. I said ‘I don't have a camper anymore’. LOL. So did that one just for fun renting it out and got another for me. Eventually more people wanted to reserve it then was possible so got another and the rest as they say is history.

It's perfect for me. I don't do it primarily for the money. Sure, a little extra never hurts. But I absolutely love living on Maui, love meeting people from all over the world and love even more to share how I know the island with everyone I can. Like you soon. What better job then that.

I've been to pretty much every best spot to camp. A lot of secret spots only way to know is someone else showing how to get there. I still camp today with same group of friends. Years doing it and every single time it is absolutely incredible. Never gets old.

Always look forward to chatting with guests at checkout. I get to re-live it all through your experience just like my first time. Guests often say I am like having a guide/concierge 24/7 while on vacation. LOL. By the time they leave guests are friends.
