We tried them all. And after years of guest feedback, Easy Campers kept coming out as the best fit for the Maui experience.

 

Here’s why:

Rooftop tents can feel interesting the first night. Then comes the second night and the hassles start adding up.

 

Because at the end of the day you’re still sleeping in a tent.

 

• Guests would comment they could really hear the wind, rain, tent material flapping and feel the heat

 

• There's a ladder every time you need the restroom, a drink, a snack or want to sit outside

 

• Comments were that ladder barefoot, often in the dark, it started hurting their feet and sometimes they missed a step completely.

 

Think about it. During the day, you’re not in a camper. You’re in a car!

 

To stop and relax, take a nap or just stretch out for a while? Choices are the driver’s seat or passenger seat.

 

And if something you need is still in the tent like your wallet, watch or part of a bathing suit, you need more than one spot in a parking lot to open it up, climb in, grab whatever, close everything back down all easily turning into 20 minutes of time or more.

 

The feedback was consistent. First night had the novelty. After that, guests noticed how much of their Maui time was spent opening and closing the tent, climbing the ladder and sitting in the front seats of a car when they wanted a break.

 

Our goal is simple: A Maui camper to make the trip easy and comfortable every day. 👍

Sometimes you may see vans for rent with a bed inside. But when you start using one every day on vacation, the drawbacks are noticeable.

 

• Campervans are heavy-duty work vans. The ride is rough, and guests told us they didn’t enjoy driving one around Maui on vacation

 

• Guests often explained they were getting less than 10 miles per gallon

 

• Heat was one of the most consistent complaints. These vans are basically large metal boxes, often with small side windows that sometimes don’t open, or no side windows at all

 

Guests would say the same setup affects the scenery too. You’re sleeping low near the floor, away from any windows, and the windows aren’t designed for lying back, looking outside and enjoying the view.

 

So it's driving around Maui in a big work-style van feeling a rough ride, paying more for gas, and spending your nights in a hot space with little airflow.

 

Our goal is simple: Enjoy the ride, enjoy the scenery, and most importantly, sleep comfortably at the end of the day. 👍

If you’re picturing full-size RVs, like the ones used for cross-country road trips with the family, you won’t find those on Maui.

 

Why? They’re not allowed. Our roads simply can’t handle them. Just picture it:

 

• Narrow, winding roads

 

• One-lane stretches

 

• And trying to turn one around? Good luck with that. 😅

 

If Maui had full-size RVs running around, they’d be stuck everywhere holding up the roads.

 

Full-size RVs just aren’t a part of Maui. And that’s probably a good thing. 😉
