Who’s Paradise Jay?

 

You mean the guy behind Easy Campers Maui? That’s me! 👋

 

I’m Paradise Jay who you’ll actually meet at check-in, the guy who still has his own camper, still camps all over Maui, and is always noticing little ways to make the whole Easy Camper experience even better.

 

Funny thing is Easy Campers Maui was never the plan. Years ago it just unexpectedly became a business.

 

I had my own camper that I used around the island. A friend kept on me over and over saying, “You should rent that thing when you’re not using it.”

 

I kept telling him nobody was going to rent my camper.

 

Eventually, so he’d stop bugging me, I put it online. 

 

I went and told him: “There. I did it. Happy now?” 😅

 

A few days later I checked the listing, and there were a bunch of bookings. I thought: “Wait... I don’t have my camper to use anymore.” 😮

 

So I bought another SUV and set that one up for myself.

 

Then even more guests started asking when they could come, especially when there wasn’t anything available for the dates they wanted.

 

So my second camper became another Easy Camper too. 

 

At that point, it was still all growing through word of mouth. More people wanted to come to Maui and have the same Easy Camper adventure their friends, family, or coworkers had told them about.

 

So, to open up more dates, another Easy Camper was added. Then another.

 

One at a time, guest demand created this little domino effect... and along the way, my personal Maui campers became Easy Campers Maui.

 

The way it started is still the way I look at it today. 🌴 I still have my own camper. I still camp all over Maui. And I still notice little things and think, “That could work even better.”

 

Maybe it’s a small improvement inside. Maybe it’s coming across a better-designed piece of camping gear. Often it’s updating information in the guide because something different is happening around Maui during the week of a guest’s vacation.

 

All the big stuff has been dialed in for years. Now it’s all about tweaking the little things that make using an Easy Camper and experiencing Maui with it even better.

 

Over the years, some of the best compliments have come from guests who own campers themselves and tell us: “We’re doing that to ours when we get home.” 

 

And every once in a while, a guest who never considered owning a camper checks out after their vacation telling us they want to go home, find an SUV, and build one just like ours.

 

Those are some of the best compliments Easy Campers Maui could ever get.

 

Because after all these years, it means the same thing that started this whole fun adventure is still working:

 

A guy who loves sharing Maui, still camps all over Maui, keeps thinking of ways to make it even better… and has a very persistent friend who was right all along! 😂
